There is work all year round in Hastings and we can help you get a job.

The high season is October – May. The 3 main periods are...

         -  May-October:           (Pruning) Cutting & tying the Apple and Kiwi fruit

                                              branches. Packhouse work as well.      

         -  October-December:  (Thinning) Picking off the exta fruit.

        -  December-May:  (Harvest) Picking Apples, Pears, Kiwi, Raspberries, Grapes

Sleeping Giant Backpackers has an arrangement with many of the employers at local orchards, vineyards, and pack houses.
